TYPSA is delighted to be a winner of the Ground Engineering Awards 2020

The SCS Design House team comprising ARUP, TYPSA and STRABAG has won the award for its work on the HS2 High Speed Project in London.

This year’s edition of these prestigious awards went ahead despite the difficulties of the times. The awards recognise the best and most outstanding work in projects where geotechnical engineering plays a key role, and the organisers succeeded in celebrating the winners’ achievements using virtual technology.

The winning team has been working together for 3 years and after completing the scheme design for HS2 Lot S1 and Lot S2 they are now fully immersed and engaged in the detailed designs for Euston tunnels and approaches, and Northolt tunnels, addressing the most complicated part of the HS2 High Speed Line closest to London. A total of 22. 2 km of tunnel and 2.2 km in cuttings will have a maximum design speed of 320 km/hour.

We would like to congratulate the consortium’s entire Geotechnical team and especially the 30 people from TYPSA’s offices in London, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Austin with the collaboration of our subsidiary Aztec. The team’s hard work and dedication have been rewarded, excelling over major world class competitors.
