Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Operating in the energy sector since 2005 with a team specialising in energy storage systems, TYPSA has been involved in more than 170 BESS projects across 16 countries, with a cumulative capacity exceeding 70 GWh.   

Its expertise covers all phases of the project lifecycle, from technical due diligence, feasibility studies and site selection through to detailed engineering, support for EPC and major equipment procurement, Owner’s Engineering (OE), construction management and commissioning. It has been involved in both stand-alone BESS installations and hybrid projects that integrate storage with solar photovoltaic or wind power generation.  

It provides services to lenders, investment funds, financial institutions, developers, contractors and technology suppliers, supporting the development, financing and execution of projects. The optimisation of the Levelised Cost of Storage (LCOS) is addressed from the earliest stages of the project through the optimisation of the Balance of Plant (BOP) and the selection of the most suitable technology. 

Owner’s Engineering (OE) and construction management are carried out using a phased methodology, tailored to each stage of the project to ensure technical assurance, effective coordination and appropriate risk management from design through to commissioning.
