Key facts

Phase 1: Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels and approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). A total of 24.4 km all within London. Maximum speed of 320 km/hour. BREEAM Infrastructure Scheme Certificate achieved with ‘Excellent’ rating

22.2 km of tunnel including:

– 20.8 km of twin-tube TBM tunnel (7.2 km with an inner diameter of 7.55 m; 5.5 km with an inner diameter of 8.10 m; and 8.1 km with an inner diameter of 8.80 m).

– 0.8 km SCL (Sprayed Concrete Lining) tunnel with internal diameters ranging up to 15.2 m.

– 0.6 km in cut and cover tunnel with spans up to 30 m.

2.2 km above ground with 2 under bridges and 3 over bridges, two over the Euston station approaches, 120 m long.

6 ventilation and intervention shafts and 1 evacuation shaft up to 45 metres deep.

Services

Preliminary and detailed design of lots S1 and S2. Inclusion of numerous sustainability aspects during design and commitment to a 50% reduction of the carbon footprint during construction.
