TYPSA incorporates the Australian engineering company EDG Consulting into the Group

TYPSA is excited to welcome EDG Consulting to the Group. EDG Consulting, with offices in Brisbane and Melbourne, delivers a broad range of services and practical solutions including engineering design services, advice and geosciences services, forensic investigations and expert opinion over a wide range of market sectors.

Australia has been a key market for TYPSA since the opening of its subsidiary in 2016, and has participated in metro, roads, ports, wind and solar farms projects in the region. TYPSA is currently playing a significant role in a number of contracts for Transport for New South Wales (Sydney), acting as the Independent Certifier for the Martin Place, Victoria Cross and Crows Nest new Metro stations, and preparing the detailed design for the Sydney Metro West Central Tunnelling Package.

EDG provides design, engineering, advice and geosciences services to private, public and government clients over a wide range of sectors. The experience of EDG staff extends to many overseas locations, including NZ, PNG, throughout Asia, the UK and North America. EDG’s highly skilled and qualified team uses their deep experience in design and construction to develop practical solutions over the full project life cycle: from project feasibility to implementation and even decommissioning, and throughout all stages of design.

With the incorporation of EDG into the TYPSA Group, TYPSA is reinforced in Australia with a team of professionals of expertise and experience in the geotechnical engineering sector, active in some of the major infrastructure projects in the country. The TYPSA Group through this acquisition consolidates its presence in Australia, increasing its footprint with permanent offices in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales. The resources, experience and knowledge of the entire TYPSA Group will be available to EDG, which from now on significantly enhances the range of services it can offer to its customers, while maintaining its work philosophy and commitment to quality engineering.

Carmen Verdú, General Manager of TYPSA in Australia says: “TYPSA is very pleased for having participated in some of the most iconic infrastructure projects in Australia in the last 6 years. The addition of EDG to the TYPSA Group has resulted from deep cooperation between the two companies over a long period, with both sharing a similar philosophy in the way we approach engineering problems, and the values that should drive the business. We look forward to continuing that philosophy and approach and in so doing making things even better”.

Ian Shipway, Senior Principal and Director of EDG noted that: “Everyone at EDG is really enthusiastic to soon be working with our new colleagues at TYPSA, with whom we share cultural and technical alignment. The Directors of EDG believe that the TYPSA Group will also provide us with more diverse opportunities for growth and the professional development of our staff. We’re excited to be able to continue delivering constructible designs to our clients under the broader platform that the TYPSA Group offers”.
