Inés Ferguson was a panel member for session 2 “Infrastructure for Society, Equality, Climate and Nature”, highlighting Europe’s transition to resilience as an essential pillar for security and economic growth. She highlighted the growing exposure to climate and security threats, as well as to interruptions in energy and material supplies, which are driving governments to increase their infrastructure, security and defence budgets. “Combining safety, resilience and sustainability is the roadmap for the engineering consulting sector in Europe for the coming years,” she said.
The Pamban elevated bridge project in India, developed by TYPSA-STUP-MC2, received the recognition of Project of the Year (Small to Medium Project). This is an outstanding achievement, considering the quality and the number of the submissions received. Pablo Bueno, Joaquin Barba and Ines Ferguson were present to receive the award, and they had the opportunity to congratulate the new president of FIDIC for 2025-2027, Alfredo Ingletti, representing the Italian association OICE.
