TYPSA has developed the SCALAF (Water Quality and Flow Monitoring) application, a web-based platform designed for the monitoring, analysis and comprehensive management of information from the network of environmental monitoring stations distributed throughout Galicia. The contract, awarded in November 2025, was commissioned by Augas de Galicia and funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
The solution centralises, within a single digital environment, the data recorded by the stations monitoring water quality, river levels and flow rates, enabling users to access up-to-date information easily and efficiently in NRT. Thanks to this platform, Augas de Galicia has a comprehensive and unified overview of the status of its environmental monitoring network, optimising both monitoring activities and its ability to respond to potential incidents.

SCALAF incorporates an advanced geographic viewer that allows users to check the location and status of the stations on different maps and layers of spatial data. The application facilitates navigation through the monitoring network using specific filters and visualisation tools that enable the data obtained to be contextualised within the geographical environment in which it is generated.
The tool enables Near-Real-Time (NRT) monitoring of Galicia’s network of water quality stations, gauging points and flow rates, facilitating the management of environmental information and data-driven decision-making.
Key features of the platform include the continuous monitoring of key parameters for assessing the status of water bodies, such as pH, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, ammonium, nitrates, water level and flow rate. Data from the data loggers installed in the field is processed and made available to users via monitoring dashboards and query tools that facilitate the operational monitoring of the network.
The application also incorporates an intelligent alarm management system capable of automatically detecting situations requiring attention, whether due to interruptions in data transmission or because established thresholds for certain parameters have been exceeded. These alerts can be analysed, commented on and audited, thereby enhancing the traceability of actions taken and improving the operational management of the stations.
SCALAF also provides advanced functionalities for analysing historical data, allowing users to visualise trends over time, compare periods, consult data series, download graphs and export information in various formats. Furthermore, the platform facilitates station validation, calibration and maintenance tasks, as well as the configuration of thresholds, notifications and access permissions via a role-based user management system.

From a technological perspective, the solution combines monitoring and control capabilities, geospatial management and historical storage of environmental data within a single platform, integrating information from sensors distributed in the field and transforming it into useful knowledge for water resource management.
