Key facts
Lines 1 and 2, section from Guadalmedina-Malagueta including 1.8 km of underground railway with two stations (La Marina and La Malagueta) in cut-and-cover tunnel. Line 3 between La Malagueta and El Palo stations is 5.5 km long and features six stations.
Construction method: cut-and-cover tunnel between retaining walls excavated with a hydromill.
Geology: part of the route crosses rocky areas (shales, phyllites and sandstones) and the rest traverses areas containing soils and marine deposits with a high groundwater level.
