Works on the trackbed, assembly systems, track assembly, gauge changeover systems, overhead contact line and systems, substations and transformers, electrical substation connection lines, energy remote control facilities, signalling, interlocking, train protection systems, centralised traffic control, auxiliary protection and safety systems, fixed and mobile telecommunications, GSM-R and public operator infrastructure, impacts and modifications to conventional gauge lines, protection systems and noise barriers. The large 1,488 m viaduc built on the Cañaveral – Embalse de Alcántara subsection has a slender central arch spanning 324 metres across the River Tagus. Once completed, the viaduct will be one of the longest high speed railway viaducts of this type in the world.
