MONITORING FOUR UNIQUE BRIDGES IN THE NATIONAL ROAD NETWORK

Implementation of an intelligent system to monitor the condition of four unique bridges in real time.

This system facilitates continuous data gathering (accelerations, force in the prestressing tendons, deformations, joint movements, wind speed and direction, ambient temperature and humidity, etc.) of different structural elements, improving knowledge about the structural behaviour of these viaducts: The Santos Bridge over the Eo estuary (A-8), the Samprón Bridge in León (A-6), and the Neira I and Neira II bridges in Lugo (A-6).

More than 50 sensors have been placed on each bridge to statically and dynamically monitor their behaviour.
