As it emerges, it precipitates carbonate and slowly forms tuffs, waterfalls and petrifying springs. These are living, fragile landscapes, the balance of which depends on aquifer recharge, climate variability and land use.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:264}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">TYPSA has carried out a hydrogeological study of the karst systems associated with the priority habitats of community interest 7220 \u2018Petrifying springs with tufa formation (Cratoneurion)\u2019 in the Las Loras Geopark, developing awareness-raising and climate change adaptation measures as part of a sustainable water management strategy. The integration of this data has made it possible to review the conceptual model of how karst aquifers function, identify the factors controlling spring discharge and assess the vulnerability of tufa systems to potential changes in recharge and seasonal water availability.
