CESINE Training & Conferences, in collaboration with Metros\u00b2 magazine, organised the WORKPLACE 2026 property forum in Madrid on 4 February 2026, where each year investors, owners, operators, and real estate and construction professionals from the office sector gather to analyse key market factors and future trends.<\/p>\n
TYPSA played an active role in this forum through the participation of Javier Fern\u00e1ndez, Director of the Architecture Division, who took part in the event\u2019s opening panel, where he shared TYPSA\u2019s approach to understanding office spaces<\/p>\n
From our multidisciplinary and multisectoral perspective, office buildings are the main driver of change in the cities in which we live. From their origins to the present day, cities have been shaped around the dual concept of living and working. The major challenges we face when designing office buildings stem from an urban analysis, their location, and the creation of a mixed-use environment that makes possible the localised city we long to have.<\/p>\n
Buildings must be designed based on an analysis of current ways of working and the companies that will use them. Workplace analytics has become a necessity and a working tool that will determine their form. Architecture will respond to the question of how to design functional buildings that adapt to the urban environment and are committed to sustainability parameters that reduce their consumption to Net Zero.<\/p>\n
We were also able to see that the sector is in excellent health and has reinvented itself since the pandemic. Workers are demanding better-equipped workspaces where they can grow professionally, share professional experiences with colleagues and forge the human connections necessary to ensure excellence in their work.<\/p>\n
Likewise, the sector has successfully responded to the excess demand in city centres by creating highly attractive hubs for technology companies and other new-generation sectors. This multi-centred approach will contribute to the consolidation of the \u2018city of proximity\u2019, easing the pressure on city centres and maximising the supply of spaces for businesses and workers.<\/p>\n
