TYPSA is providing Drainage, Geotechnical and Structural engineering services on the \u2018N22 Baile Ghuirne to Macroom Road development\u2019 project in Ireland for the lead designer: local firm Barry Transportation.<\/p>\n

The impressive S26 and S28 bridges, both integral bridges with precast concrete box- beams, are two of the ten structures that TYSPA is designing. The 49.90 m beams on the single-span S26 \u2013 Laney Riverbridge are currently the longest ever used in Ireland and the UK.\u00a0 The S28 \u2013 Sullane Riverbridge has two spans with similar beam lengths (48.75 m) and brings the added challenge of being an almost 100 m long integral bridge.<\/p>\n

Weighing 155 tonnes each, the 7 beams for bridge S26 were placed over the Laney River on 15th and 16th December 2020 after four nights of special transport.<\/p>\n

These beams were manufactured by Banagher Precast Concrete for the contractor Jons Civil Engineering \/ John Cradock JV Limited, the end client being Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).<\/p>\n
