{"id":54180,"date":"2014-11-13T13:08:14","date_gmt":"2014-11-13T12:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.typsa.com\/typsa-designs-riyadh-metro-liner-4-5-and-6-2\/"},"modified":"2022-06-13T17:33:53","modified_gmt":"2022-06-13T16:33:53","slug":"typsa-designs-riyadh-metro-liner-4-5-and-6-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.typsa.com\/en\/typsa-designs-riyadh-metro-liner-4-5-and-6-2\/","title":{"rendered":"TYPSA designs Riyadh Metro Liner 4, 5 and 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #444444;\">In October 2013, the Arriyadh Development Authority-ADA- and the FAST Consortium, of which TYPSA is a member, signed the contract for the Design and Construction of Lines 4, 5 and 6 of the new metro network in the Saudi Arabian capital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">With a total investment of USD 21,200 million, the new urban transport network in Riyadh represents one of the biggest engineering contracts in the world and the largest ever for Spanish civil engineering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Together, the three lines awarded to FAST have a total length of 64.43 km which is slightly more than a third of the new network. There are 26.44 km of tunnels and 29.73 km of viaduct, 25 stations, 2 workshop-depot complexes and 7 park and ride car parks. The total value of the contract is USD 7,800 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">The\u00a0<em>joint venture<\/em>\u00a0formed by TYPSA and the British engineering firm Atkins (DJV) has since been working on the concept and detailed designs of the three lines, for the construction consortium (FCC, SAMSUNG, Strukton, Freyssinet).<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">TYPSA is basically in charge of the design of the deep stations\u00a0 and of the TBM and bored tunnels as well as the works to restructure the road network and urban integration works. Currently, TYPSA has assigned around 110 technicians to this project, which at its height will require up to 250 professionals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">TYPSA has been working in Saudi Arabia since 1978 and this contract is in addition to the ones the firm is currently developing in the country, which include: the design and supervision of several phases of the Al Imam University in Riyadh, site supervision of numerous contracts in the Riyadh water supply plan for the National Water Company, the new Al Jouf university campus and the supervision of the Jubail-Damman, interior Jubail network and North corridor, for the Saudi Railway Company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In October 2013, the Arriyadh Development Authority-ADA- and the FAST Consortium, of which TYPSA is a member, signed the contract for the Design and Construction of Lines 4, 5 and 6 of the new metro network in the Saudi Arabian capital.
