TYPSA has been providing construction engineering services to the Cartagena Port Authority for the various construction stages of the expansion of the Escombreras Basin, for 15 years. In order to increase intermodality, and in the framework of the construction of the Mediterranean Corridor, the Port Authority has embarked on major improvement works to upgrade both rail and road accesses, in which TYPSA is playing a major role.<\/p>\n
After completing the supervision of the works to convert the road to dual carriageway and prepare the railway trackbed for the accesses to the port facilities, TYPSA is providing construction engineering services for the new railway access to the Escombreras Basin expansion, which has a budget of more than 21 million euros and 18 months for completion.<\/p>\n
A new branch line will link the existing Cartagena\u2013Escombreras railway line to the new port terminals. A total of 2,560 m of track will be laid on ballast while in the berthing area there will be 1,645 m of ballastless track. As part of the project, accesses to Repsol facilities (wastewater treatment plant, finished products station, butane production plant and new parking area for tanker trucks) will be upgraded and where services are affected by the construction work adjustments will be made to infrastructure belonging to REPSOL itself, SABIC, Iberdrola, Hidrogea, Telefon\u00eda and GDF Suez.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
