The Plovdiv Svilengrad Railway Project,
in Bulgaria, is undergoing a transformation at the moment with
the commencement of two new contracts, awarded on the 5th September.
The new contracts mean that the Supervision Team is now responsible
for ensuring the satisfactory delivery of three large railway
contracts, with a fourth anticipated before the end of next year.
The total length of the overall project is approximately 140Km,
with design speed 160 Km/hr for conventional trains (200Km/hr
tilting trains) and includes modern signaling, telecommunications
and SCADA systems.
The Supervision Team, lead by TYPSA and including
four international partners; SYSTRA, Louis Berger, Trademco and
Rubicon have focused considerable attention this year on the development
of a strong team and management systems. The result of these efforts
is that the team has recently been recognised in the Country for
the way it is approaching its task.
