In mid-November 2007 TYPSA welcomed
to the Madrid main office a delegation comprising representatives
from the Ministry of Transport and the National Railway Infrastructure
Company (NRIC) of Bulgaria.
The Delegation are currently involved in a large
scale program of railway infrastructure development in Bulgaria
and are specifically working with TYPSA and other partners to
implement the ‘Plovdiv – Svilengrad Railway Electrification
and Upgrading Contract’
The Delegation comprised Heads of Departments and
State Experts from the Ministry of Transport, together with both
Deputy Director Generals of NRIC. Also in attendance were TYPSA’s
Project Director for the Supervision of the Plovdiv-Svilengrad
Railway, Richard Kerry and Civil and Trackworks Resident Engineer,
Valodia Ninov.
The delegation attended a seminar presentation given
by TYPSA colleagues, which informed the party on the specific
technical elements of rail systems adopted in Spain. TYPSA’s
specific capability and experience in the design

and implementation of rail and tunnelling projects
was also presented. The trip included a visit to the Guadarrama
High Speed Railway Tunnel, the M-30 Tunnels and a journey on a
high-speed train, to Zaragoza.
TYPSA’s Eastern Europe Director, Miriam Ruiz,
said: ‘TYPSA is committed to developing its relations with
its clients and demonstrating our capability. Our contract in
Bulgaria includes provisions for knowledge transfer to the client
and this visit allowed us to demonstrate elements of the technical
systems and management organisation that is commonly adopted in
Spain and exemplified by TYPSA’. |
